Welcome back! It is coming up to that beautiful time of year that we all love. Halloween and Bonfire Night have been and gone but Christmas is so very soon! So there will be lots to look forward to in school too.
Our first week of this half term we will be looking at the country Germany as every class explores a different European country.
This half term we will be looking at why we celebrate bonfire night and who the Victorians were. We will be particularly focusing on how the Victorian era influenced Christmas today.
During this half term we will be taking the children on a trip to the pantomime, which will be a very exciting experience for us all!
The children will all be taking part in the Christmas nativity performing various roles, such as narrators, singers or dances. This is something the children really look forward to doing and everyone looks forward to watching their fantastic performance too!
Please find the curriculum map and the creative home learning projects.
Welcome back! I hope you have all had a lovely holiday and made lots of exciting memories, I look forward to hearing all about them.
This first half term we have three fantastic topics that we will be exploring. To begin with we are going to focus on 'The World of Work', this is something we are looking at as a whole school. In Year 1 we will be looking at people who help us and what we would love to be when we are older. After that we will be developing our knowledge of our local area and what beautiful things we have in Whiston. This will lead on to looking at houses and how they are all different. Do you think Cinderella lives in the same type of house as you do?
