Summer 1, Week 2, 27/04/20

Hello Year 4!

It was lovely to speak too many of you last week and I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and have been enjoying the sunshine!

Last week you may have produced a non-chronological report on the Romans (It was lovely to see a few of you sent a photograph for me to look at!) and you also learnt about Roman numerals.

For the next couple of weeks we will be looking at Roman narratives, focusing on myths and legends. You will be looking at the story of Romulus and Remus to help you produce your own narrative. This week we will be focusing on features of a narrative, as well as character and setting descriptions.

In maths you will be learning about decimals, I have uploaded 1 piece of math work per day; however please feel free to do extra if you really want to challenge yourself.

For reading you were each given the book 'How to train your Dragon' with comprehension questions, please continue to read this and work through the questions. However there is also lots of reading material and questions on the year 4 website under ‘reading’ section, so please feel free to use these if your prefer. The important thing is that you are reading regularly!

On the website spelling and handwriting resources are available and this week’s focus is adding prefixes.

For topic we will be focusing on the Romans for the whole of this term, on the ‘Topic’ section of the Y4 website I have put lots of different material and activities to help you learn about the Romans, but if you would like to do your own research or have your own interests feel free to be creative!

This half term in science we are looking at solids, liquids and gasses, again I have uploaded learning resources, but you can also do your own research and experiments.

I hope you all have a lovely week!
