Autumn Term 1
This term Year 4 are learning about the world of work and Filey. Throughout the topic children will be Geopgraphers, developing map reading skills and learning about the environment. Our Class book is a picture book called Flotsam and a lot of our literacy work will be linked to it.
Later in the year we are looking forward to developing our enterprise skills, learning about life in roman and viking times and studying the rainforest.
Exciting times lie ahead for the year 4's this half term as we embark upon our residential to York. I know everyone is really excited and some are a little worried (and this is just the parents). It promises to be a fantastic learning experience and a chance to further develop levels of independence.
The homework topics are starting to come in and look amazing! We have a lego fort with a drawbridge, a card game and a couple of shields and swords. Thank you again for your continued support.
Our swimming is well underway and the children are displaying high levels of behaviour both on the journey and during the taught sessions.
Don't forget our sports day will commence at 1.30 pm on Thursday 25th and will be full of cheering, challenges and champions.
Welcome to the world of Magic and Mystery.
Threaded throughout our topic this half term will be the first book in the famous Harry Potter series. We will be linking all our learning in Science to this theme and creating some fantastic experiments including making sugar wands and testing which magical cloak dries fastest.
