In the list below is a boklet for FS2 parent/carer packed full of ideas to use at home to develop mathematical understanding in fun, exciting ways.
Have you a set of dominoes at home?
If so, look at the booklet in the document list below for some fantastic learning activities to try at home.
Cut out the number cards in your learning pack.
*Can you say the numbers?
*Can you put them in the correct order?
*use buttons, dried pasta etc. Choose a number and count out the matching number of objects
*Choose 2 numbers. Which is the largest/smallest?
*Choose a number. What is one more and one less?
*Go on a number hunt around your home and garden- what numbers can you find? Write the numbers in your activity book.
*count objects around the house e,g, number of carrots in the fridge, number of saucepans in the cupboard etc.
*Can you sing a number song? What happens to the numbers in the song? Do they get larger/smaller?
Look at the song book in the list below. It is full of the number songs we sing at school, with youtube links, so that you can sing along to the music!
