Summer 1, Week 3

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to a new week of learning! I hope you are all well and enjoying your new school environment!

This week many of your learning tasks build up to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day – marking 75 years since the end of WW2. These activities are for you to enjoy as a family leading up to the celebrations being held on Friday 8th May, which is a Bank Holiday. Please send your photos to so we can share and enjoy the celebrations together. This week I would really like you to get creative and do the best with the activities you have been set. If you cannot make any of the ideas, you could always draw them out and there may be a time you can create them at a later date.

Last week you started writing a Myth based on the Romulus and Remus Story, for the start of the week you should complete this (see resources on the website.) For the second part of the week you will be doing some research to create a fact file for VE day, which will then lead to writing a poem on Thursday.

Your spellings this week will be looking at the prefix ‘anti’

In maths your learning is based on decimals and money.

As always there is plenty of topic options based around the Romans and our science topic of solids liquids and gasses, however if you’re feeling more create please see plenty of options on the VE learning task sheet.

It was lovely to speak to many of you last week, I will be doing some more phone next week!

Have a lovely week of learning, remember to stay safe and be good for your parents!

VE Day

VE Day - or 'Victory in Europe Day' - marks the day towards the end of World War Two (WW2) when fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe came to an end.

On 8 May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio at 3pm that the war in Europe had come to an end, following Germany's surrender the day before.

Below are some suggested activities you can do with your family to help celebrate VE day. You can also find out more on
